Fruit taken from a small house block of 26yr old vines on Wendouree Road. A very hot dry vintage with a smaller yield from the vineyard produced intense concentrated fruit flavours. The Malbec was fermented on skins for 10 days in open fermenters and then the skins drained through the basket press to control tannin. Inky purple colour with luscious juicy fruit flavours of blackberry, violet and earthy herbaceous overtone balancing the soft tannins with aging in 20% new and old French oak for 12 months.
Food Match: Great with Lamb Shanks or braised beef stew.
