Description
Fruit taken from a small house block of 26yr old vines on Wendouree Road. A very hot dry vintage in 2019, but this vineyard gets protection from the late afternoon sun and allows the fruit to keep finesse and elegance though with a smaller yield from the vineyard help produced intense concentrated fruit flavours. The Malbec was fermented on skins for 10 days in open fermenters and then the skins drained through the basket press to control tannin. Inky purple colour with elegant complex fruit flavours of blackberry, violet and earthy herbaceous overtone balancing the soft tannins with aging in 20% new and old French oak for 12 months.
Food Match: Great with Lamb Shanks or braised beef stew.
