Description
This wine comes from our block next to the old windmill and has always been known as the Windmill Block.
Fruit sourced from a single dry grown vineyard in our north eastern section of the vineyard with north/south running rows with an elevation of 455m. The soil is a sandy loam and clay soil structure. This small 2.5acre block, produces a lifted elegant style shiraz with flavours of liquorice, raspberry and herbs. The tannins are light but linger on the palate.
Taken from our lower block with a mild 2022 Vintage that let the vines ripen slowly and a delayed harvest helped the fruit develop delicate complex flavours of dark fruit and raspberry notes and a hint of licorice with a light tannin that lingers on the palate. Aged in 20% new and old French Oak for 10 months.
